Meet Tanai Smith.

Tanai is from Maryland and was diagnosed with sepsis in December 2017.  In her own words, "After the surgery I went into septic shock causing me to be in the ICU for a few weeks. I died on the surgery table. While in ICU, my organs began to fail. I was on a breathing machine and dialysis because my kidneys weren’t working right. Everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong."

The hardest part for Tanai was being away from her young daughter while sick. She shares her story in hopes of educating others of the symptoms of sepsis and saving a life.
