FINANCIAL AID FUND

In partnership with Patient Advocate Foundation, the LEISHLine Financial Aid Fund works to support eligible patients who have an Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Sepsis and/or Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) physician verified diagnosis within a six month look-back period. Each approved patient will receive a one-time $1,000.00 payment to be applied towards the following expenses: rent/mortgage, transportation, utilities, food/nutritional needs and/or lodging.

We will award grants to ten approved applicants per month. The application portal will close once we have exhausted all ten grants for the month and reopen on the first of the following month. All applicants will be considered on a first come, first serve basis and applications will be reviewed by the Patient Advocate Foundation’s team of certified case workers. Funding requests can be made by phone or online through the LEISHLine Financial Aid Fund.

We will endeavor to accommodate requests where appropriate, however, due to the large volume of requests made each month, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled.

CASE MANAGEMENT

The Begin Again Foundation Case Management program works with survivors of Sepsis, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome(ARDS) and Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) to identify, advocate and coordinate care plans to meet their specific health and human services needs.

BEREAVEMENT FUND

In partnership with Patient Advocate Foundation, the Angel Fund offers one-time $1,000 grants to eligible bereaved families to assist with the expense of laying a loved one who has passed from Sepsis, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) or Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) to rest. To be eligible, the patient’s income prior to passing will need to meet programs financial guidelines, application will need to be submitted within 6 months of the deceased date and the patient succumbed to the diagnosis of Sepsis, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) or Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS). Qualifying diagnosis documentation include a death certificate with cause of death, doctor verification and/or medical notes.

The application portal will close once exhausted and reopen the first business day of the following month. All grants are provided on a first-come first served basis and distributed until funds are depleted.

Applications for burial or cremation expenses may be completed by a caregiver and/or family member by calling toll-free (855) 824-7941. There is no online portal for this fund.

Formerly known as Butterfly Blessings, this program helps families of children admitted to the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters who demonstrate a severe hardship. After CHKD social workers conduct an assessment to determine family needs, the fund is utilized as a short-term resource to help families with expenses related to transportation (gas, tolls, cab fare), meals, medications, baby items, household utilities, rent and even funeral expenses.

TOXIC SHOCK PREVENTION

Following Audrey’s near-death experience with Toxic Shock Syndrome after tampon use, she developed a passion for women’s health and committed to providing access to safe feminine hygiene products to homeless women. Women experiencing homelessness are often faced with the choice between finding their next meal or using unsafe, toxic resources during their period.

Begin Again is committed to deliver packages of Period Planners to homeless shelters along with educational materials to protect women against Toxic Shock Syndrome. One less tampon can truly save a life.

LEILA ROSE FOUNDATION

Raised on the rolling hills of Warrnambool, Australia, Marc makes his childhood hometown a place he loves to support. We’ve partnered with Australia-based Leila Rose Foundation, to distribute $2,500 grants to help families of children battling rare childhood cancer. With no known cure for the cancer affecting many of these families, Leila Rose Foundation assists families to ensure they have a complete understanding of their child’s cancer, the treatment process and available treatment options in addition to the much-needed financial support.

TESTIMONIAL

“After suffering from C-diff and sepsis in the middle of a cancer diagnosis, I had to make changes and quit my job. The Leishline Financial Aid was a huge financial relief. The process was super easy and I’m very grateful for this opportunity.”
