Brittney Crow
Brittney Crow was diagnosed with a UTI, but the antibiotics she was prescribed for the infection weren't helping.
The morning she went into sepsis, Brittney was weak, unable to walk and had a high fever. With her condition rapidly deteriorating Brittney was admitted to ICU and in critical condition. The next 48 hours were touch and go. They didn’t know if she would survive the next 24 hours.
After spending the next 7 days in CICU, Brittney went home and began to exhibit signs of Post-Sepsis Syndrome. She didn’t feel like the 22-year-old she used to be. The hardest part of her battle against sepsis was losing the person she used to be and learning to be accepting of the tired, forgetful, clumsy, pain-filled person she's become.
Having gone into sepsis three more times since 2013, Brittney wants everyone to learn how to recognize the symptoms of sepsis so they never have to experience the challenges she is facing.
