Andrew Weiner has had sepsis a total of 4 times: 2013, 2018, 2019 and November 2020.

The 54 year-old from Boxborough, Massachusetts said his 2019 diagnosis was the worst and he did not expect to make it out of the hospital.

A sepsis survivor and fighter, Andrew says early intervention is the key to survival, including treatment and management. Overcoming obesity and diabetes, he knows a simple foot wound that doesn't heal properly can bring on sepsis. Andrew knows to watch any open wound or sore for infection and monitors himself for fevers as well as heat, redness and purulent drainage from a wound.

Stay vigilant, Andrew and thank you for sharing your story.
